My Trip To Postcard Inn Resort In Islamorada, Florida

Share

I’m always so happy when I have the opportunity to visit somewhere new. Whether it’s on the other side of the globe or just a quick flight away from NYC, exploring different places and experiencing new activities is always such an honor. My trip to Postcard Inn Resort in Islamorada, Florida was no exception.

I was invited to visit the hotel to be a part of the reopening benefit after the Postcard Inn took a major hit after Hurricane Irma; the event also raised money for recovery in the Bahamas. I was so excited to check into one of their newly-renovated guest rooms after my flight to Fort Lauderdale and subsequent one hour drive to the hotel.

Though I was only meant to be there for the event, I left the trip feeling like a totally new woman. Here are a few things that I really loved about the hotel.

It’s Super Dog-Friendly

So many guests brought their dogs, and even the restaurants like Ciao Hound have an outdoor covered deck with pillows so you can have lunch with your furry best friend. They have menu items for the pups as well, such as Hot Diggity Dog, Hen House Chicken Strips, Happy Puppy, and The Half Hounder.

The Hotel Is Eco-Conscious

Save the turtles! Each yummy cocktail comes with recycled paper straws for guilty-free pleasure.

You Don’t Have To Leave The Hotel’s Grounds

Everything you need is right there on the Postcard Inn’s grounds. There are restaurants, activities and even two on-site retail boutiques.

Islamorada Is Known As The Sport Fishing Capital Of The World

If you’re willing to try something new, you can take classes to learn how to fish like a local. It’s not only rewarding, but you get to learn something new during your trip.

The Postcard Inn also offers the Hook & Cook program, which provides an opportunity for those who catch fish during the day to have it cooked fresh for dinner. (My personal favorite is blackened, however, you can also ask for your fish to be grilled or sautéed.)

The Beach Is Everywhere You Look

Need I say more? The views of the pristine Florida coast make for some serious Instagram moments.

You’ll Eat Your Fair Share Of Seafood

If you’re a seafood lover, there really isn’t a better place for you to visit. The new Raw Bar is set directly over the Atlantic Ocean and is one of the only double-deck raw bars in the Florida Keys.

Postcard Inn Has A Ton Of Spots To Eat

Postcard Inn offers three restaurants and four bars, including the beloved and historic Holiday Isle Tiki Bar, which opened in 1969. It was made famous for its creation of the original Rum Runner cocktail.

Postcard Inn Has A Starbucks

Admittedly, my favorite part of starting my morning at the Postcard Inn was how close the Starbucks was. It’s is the last one on the drive to Key West for 80 miles, so it’s the perfect place to stop and refresh on a long trip — or enjoy a beverage during your stay.

The Postcard Inn is by far one of my favorite places that I’ve traveled to in awhile, and I can’t recommend a visit there enough. Stay tuned for another blog post detailing my recommended itinerary for your stay!
